TIFF/LAB output format support

Hello,
I would like to have a LAB D50 output and NOT an RGB file, this is to retain as much colors as possible.
Photoshop/Camera Raw and Affinity Photo are able to open / write TIFF files with the LAB pixel format and would be very useful to see this in LibRaw too.
What do you think?

LibRaw postprocessing is RGB internally, so already limited by selected output color mode.

Colour is not a physical property.
"LAB pixel format" doesn't exist, too.
